Guorong Wu

Principal Investigator

Guorong Wu (PI) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is the recipient of NIH Career Development Award. His research interests are medical image analysis, machine learning, scientific data visualization, and computer assisted diagnosis. He is interested in the data-driven research to explore neuroscience problems and systematic solution to improve the healthcare in clinic practice. Currently, he leads several NIH and NSF funded research projects include (1) early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease by longitudinal image analysis, (2) longitudinal analysis of the dynamic network disruptions in Alzheimer’s disease, (3) biomarkers across neurodisorders, (4) 3D nuclear segmentation for light sheet microscopy images of mouse brain, and (5) spontaneous pain assessment using deep learning technology.
